6-12 Upper School Announcements: 


Monday 

Congrats to our students, athletes, and staff of the month for February: 

February Students of the Month: 

Elementary Athlete of the Month: Jace Nipper. Coach Cooper-White says Jace is a very energetic student who shows great leadership and sportsmanship in physical education. 


Middle School Athlete of the Month: Brewer Maranto has worked hard all this past soccer season, significantly improving. He played well in the soccer state championship game, and we look forward to watching Brewer positively impact our soccer program next year. 


High School Athlete of the Month: Jordan Holmes. Jordan has been an excellent addition to the girls’ varsity basketball team, contributing to this year’s incredible season where the team became champions at the North State MAIS tournament and runner-up in the Class 4A State Championship.  


Elementary Student of the Month: Ava Kate Stephenson, Ava Kate always comes to school with a smiling face. She is respectful to her teachers, and she is a joy to have in class. 


Middle School Student of the Month: Alaya Sorrels, Alaya has demonstrated a great attitude. She is a motivated student and works hard in her classes. Alaya is positive, respectful and helpful. 


High School Student of the Month: Jaden Lee,  Jaden has had an excellent year this year. His teachers say he is positive, polite, and respectful. He communicates well with his teachers, and they are proud of his effort. 


Staff of the Month: Coach Lott, Coach Lott is an excellent mentor to our students. He truly cares about his players, and Coach Lott is always willing to help out wherever he is needed on campus. He carries with him the true General spirit, and we are so grateful to have him here at Washington School.  

  • Anyone running for Student Council main officer must have their campaign signs up by break on Monday. Speeches must be turned in by Wednesday at 2:40 to Ms. Chandler. You may submit your speech by email. 
  • Class officers and representatives will sign up when we return from Spring Break. 
  • There will be a 5th/6th Grade transition meeting today 7th period. All 6th grade track students may still attend track practice. 
  • Students we will be putting lost and found items out this week. Please pick up your items. 
  • Pi day is March 19th. Mu Alpha Theta will have pie for sale at break and lunch for a dollar a slice. The recitation of Pi will be during High School Lunch on March 19th, which is the Wednesday after spring break. If you would like to sign up to recite, sign up in Mrs. Bell’s room by March 7th, which is the Friday before spring break. ( Announce this every day thru March 7th. Thanks!
  • Congratulations to Bella Durstanti for winning the step count challenge for Fit in February. We hope you enjoyed your Chick-fil-a gift card. 
  • Student council main officers will meet today during break in the student council room only. All of student council current members will meet with Mrs. Gay Smith in the club room on Thursday at break. 

Tuesday

  • There will be a MS/HS Track Helper Meeting at break in the Gym
  • There will be a Senior Hype Party today at Lunch. 
  • Tomorrow, all of our students who drive all need to park in the Baja, closest to Reed Road. If you are dismissing tomorrow, please bring a note for dismissal. 
  • Pi day is March 19th. Mu Alpha Theta will have pie for sale at break and lunch for a dollar a slice. The recitation of Pi will be during High School Lunch on March 19th, which is the Wednesday after spring break. Wednesday 

  • MSSC meeting at break in Mrs. Dorman’s room. 
  • Track participants and helpers will be announced over the PA. As a reminder, anyone dismissing to watch Track may not come back in the building.

The recitation of Pi will be during High School Lunch on March 19th, which is the Wednesday after spring break.   • Tomorrow, any new student needing to take their picture for the yearbook should wear their WS tie/cross tie and white button-down shirt. Students may change after pictures. Pictures will be at 8:45 in the library. 

Thursday

  • New students who need their pictures today, please report to the library after the 4th period bell at 8:43.

  • Student Council Main officers’ speeches will be at break. Voting will take place at the beginning of first period.
